China ambassador calls on Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP): Zhao Lijian, acting Ambassador of the
People’s Republic of China in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
called on Senator A. Rehman Malik, Former Federal Interior Minister,
Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control
at his residence in Islamabad on Monday.
The Chinese Ambassador Zhao Lijian was also accompanied by Mr.
Mei Jing, First Secretary / Political Officer of the People’s
Republic of China in Pakistan, said a press release here on Monday.
In their meeting Senator A. Rehman Malik and the Chinese
Ambassador discussed ongoing regional situation and reinforced
commitment from both sides of long and strong friendship.
Senator A. Rehman Malik assured that people of Pakistan will
continue to support the completion of CPEC and will allow none to
inflect it as it carries and ensures peace, prosperity and
development not only of the both countries but also the whole
region.
“We are aware of the hostile elements and their malicious aims
to sabotage the CPEC through concocted and fake propaganda and
posing threats, but both the countries are committed towards the
completion of CPEC” said Senator A. Rehman Malik.
He said that Pak-China friendship is always highly valued by
Pakistan and its people. The Chinese Ambassador said that China
highly values the efforts of Pakistan People Party in establishing
and enhancing Pak-China friendship. PPP either in government or not
has always played a key role in strengthening relations between both
the countries, he added.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said that PPP always feels proud being
architect of Pak-China friendship and will leave no stone unturned
in cementing it further.
He said that China will always find Pakistan and its people by
its side in all weathers as both countries have commitment to be
friends of all weathers.
Senator A. Rehman Malik also conveyed the best wishes of
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to
the Chinese leadership and its people.
