Police net 447 drug peddlers, 97 gamblers in July

RAWALPINDI, Aug 3 (APP): Police rounded up 447 drug peddlers in July
and registered 443 cases against the accused.
According to a police spokesman, Rawalpindi district police in their
crackdowns against drug traffickers and gamblers conducted raids during July 9 to July 31 and netted 447 drug dealers and registered 443 cases while 97 gamblers were also sent behind the bars during the period and 17 cases were registered against them.
Police during raids recovered 147 kg and 177 gram charras, three kg and
515 gram heroin, one kg and 200 gram opium and 7,883 liter liquor from their possession.
Police also recovered Rs466,120 cash stake money, 62 mobile phones and
four motorcycles from the possession of the gamblers.
