Sindh Governor seeks support to counter growing intolerance

KARACHI, Aug 3 (APP): Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here on
Thursday called upon the religious scholars to help government counter
growing intolerance in the society.
Talking to a four-member delegation of Dawaat-e-Islami, led by
Yousuf Salim Attari, he said Islam preaches peace, brotherhood and
mutual respect among the entire humanity.
“The current spate of intolerance is a deliberate attempt to
create frustration and ultimately anarchy that ought to be urgently
contained through concerted efforts,” said the Governor of Sindh.
Claiming that a section with a typical mindset was bent upon
disturbing unity in the ranks of people, he said Ulema must strengthen
the hands of government in its endeavour towards a developed and
genuinely progressive country.
Muhammad Zubair on the occasion also appreciated the exemplary
role played by vast majority of the religious scholars in forging
unity among the people.
Sindh Governor said life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)
is a guiding principle and Muslims must never forget that He neither
approved intolerance and bigotry nor injustice and discrimination.
