Gulalai refuses to quit as MNA

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7 (APP): Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
(PTI) leader Ayesha Gulalai on Monday refused to quit as Member
of the National Assembly (MNA).
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House,
Gulalai said she had been elected MNA on merit and as a
political worker and member of the august house, she would
continue efforts for women rights.
She said she had spoken for her right, which had encouraged
other women, who remained silent over violation of their rights,
to raise their voice.
She alleged that the PTI workers were levelling allegations
against here and her family, and she had even received death and
acid attack threats.
“My sister Maria Toorpakai is not a politician but she has
also not been spared by the PTI supporters,” she added.
Gulalai said the trend of using abusive language against others
should change. This all, she said, would not deter her to speak for
the weak and the vulnerable.
“A PTI minister along with an armed squad attacked my sister’s
hospital and broke the windows,” she alleged.
